Retail Replacement Value

As the name implies, this type of summary appraisal assesses the replacement value of the instrument or bow in the current retail market. It is the most common type of appraisal requested from us and is to be used exclusively for insurance purposes. If you are considering having your instrument or bow appraised by us, we ask that you set up an appointment to bring in or send the item(s) that you would like to have evaluated. During a preliminary examination, we will study your instrument or bow to determine whether or not we can move forward with a full appraisal.* We ask that you allow us a minimum of two business days for this assessment. We will also use this time to advise whether or not the instrument or bow in our opinion merits a complete retail replacement value report.

Fair Market Value, Estate & Charitable Donation

Our firm also offers Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant appraisals for estate and charitable donation purposes. For more information on USPAP certification or the Appraiser’s Association of America, please click here. 

Updated Appraisals

A retail replacement value appraisal previously on file with us can be updated and issued to the same individual for $75. If photographs are not already on file, there will be an additional charge of $100.

Certificates of Authenticity

Our authentication service is respected worldwide. A Warren certificate's value is backed by years of personal acquaintance with the finest examples of known makers, augmented by an extensive research library.

Schedule of Fees

Minimum charge for a written letter of appraisal—$500
Additional study, research, and preparation—$200 per hour

Our fee for certification of an instrument or bow is 5% of its fair market value. A retail replacement value appraisal letter can be included upon request at no additional cost.

 

* Appraisal and/or certification service is provided at our discretion. We will only undertake these services if we feel we can provide you with an accurate report.
